NEP Course Structure

• DSCC (Discipline Specific Core Courses)

These are major compulsory papers
[1-1-2-4-4-4-4-2 = 22 papers in 8 semesters; credit for each paper is 4]

** A part of each DSCC paper is marked as Practical / Tutorial

• Minor papers

[1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 = 8 papers in 8 semesters; credit for each Minor paper is 4]

• AEC

Compulsory English + MIL (BHU) / Alternative English
[1-1-1-1---------- = 4 papers, 1 each in first 4 semesters; credit for each AEC paper is 2]

• SEC (Skill Enhancement Courses)

[1-1-1------------ = 3 papers, 1 each in first 3 semesters; credit for each SEC paper is 4]

• CVAC (Compulsory Value Added Courses)

[1-1------------- = 2 papers, 1 each in first 2 semesters; credit for each CVAC paper is 4] (Compulsory ENVS & Constitutional Value in semester 1;

Compulsory ENVS & another course from a pool in semester 2)

• Practical / Tutorial

With DSCC, SEC (if UGBOS decides)

• Summer Internship

[Either at the end of 2nd semester or 4th semester or 6th semester]

• IDC (Inter-disciplinary or Multi-disciplinary Courses)

[1-1-1-------------- = 3 papers, 1 each in first 3 semesters; credit for each IDC paper is 3]

• Research Method

[1 paper in semester 7; credit given for this paper is 4]

• Dissertation

[Done in semester 7 & 8; credit given in each semester is 4]
A student can opt for Dissertation if after first 6 semesters, CGPA is equivalent to 75% marks or more

• 2 additional DSCC papers (credit 4 each paper) are to be taken in semester 8 (Project Report, & one theoretical paper) in lieu of Dissertation.
