Special ProgrammesFollowing admission, the college assesses students' learning levels and takes special measures for advanced and slow learners. Learners are evaluated primarily based on the results of qualifying board examinations and classroom review. The newly admitted are made to acclimate to the course, mode of internal assessment, and learning amenities available at the college during their initial classes. The college takes every care to understand the needs and requirements of newly admitted students, and teachers attempt to identify the student's potential in order to devise strategies to bridge the knowledge-skill gap. Teachers are available on campus and via e-mail to answer students' questions and provide assistance. Additional classes for slow learners are arranged to help with the interactive teaching process. Personal counselling for students aids in the reduction of absenteeism, non-appearance at exams, and eventual dropouts. Teachers act as mentors to students, assisting them in improving their exam results. Also,Parents of slow learners are educated on their role as motivators for their children during the yearly Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM). Advanced students are encouraged to read beyond the curriculum requirements and to pursue internships for professional courses such as CA, CS, and CMA.Students are encouraged to take competitive examinations for jobs and are assisted by facilities such as alibrary and a computer laboratory that provide reference books and online study materials to help them prepare for such exams. Further, speakers from the community are invited to give talks on newly emerging topics. It assists advanced learners in resolving complications encountered during primary classroom training and allows them to focus on their goals. When composing Project reports, advanced learners are astutely mentored. It broadens their understanding of how to do research in the real world and improves their ability to do so in the future. Students can strengthen their analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as their presentation skills, through inter-departmental seminars and group discussions. These are some measures adopted by the college for the benefit of students. |
